Girlhood Gems

 

Some of my favourite parts of being a girl!

Girlhood is such a magical time filled with moments that shape us as girls, that bring us joy and memories that will last us a lifetime. There are many simple pleasures of girlhood that we all embrace daily without even recognising what we are doing. All of us girls experience such similar things in our day to day lives without even recognising that and that is something that I find indescribably beautiful- we will talking more about these small pleasures throughout this blog post!

Some of my personal favourite things about girlhood:

Making Spotify playlists! There is such an art to making Spotify playlists that I feel that only a girl can understand. With every heartbroken girl there is a Spotify playlist made with her favourite songs that she gets emotional to or sometimes even cries to- one of my favourite sad songs to add to my heartbroken playlists is "You're losing me" by Taylor Swift. However, making playlists does not just occur to me whenever I am feeling sad or heartbroken, but also when I am going through any other minuscule emotion or situation, for example I have a playlist for walking my dog whenever the sun is shining and a different playlist for walking my dog in the rain.

Moving on to another one of my favourite parts of girlhood is making Pinterest boards, and I am positive that every girl will agree with me on this! Some people like to read before bed, some people like to journal before bed- I like to have scroll on Pinterest for a few hours and make different boards for different situations, like outfits I want to wear in the future or outfits I will never wear in the future but find incredibly cute, for nail inspiration, different passages in books that other people have made look super aesthetic (I don't understand how people make every aspect of their lives aesthetic but I am so jealous!), and I even have a Pinterest board dedicated to pictures I'm going to include in this blog.

Another one of my favourite aspects of girlhood is how we all romanticise our lives and make everything we do seem like it came straight out of a romance book (even if you are chronically single!). As a university student I find that the only way I get any of my assignments done and make it to my lectures is by romanticising everything about it; picking out the perfect playlist to make my journey onto campus all the more bearable, picking out a cute outfit and getting a coffee when I'm walking to my lecture. I even find that studying and taking notes by hand makes me retain the information so much better and even makes romanticising your life so much better!
